This morning we went to check out the Patuxent Wildlife Visitor Center. We didn't have high hopes. We thought it might be kind of lame but really wanted to check it out. When we got there it kind of looked a little abandoned...
But we were pleasantly surprised when we got inside!
There were some great exhibits and animals to check out!
Then we went outside to check out the bird feeders and peep the river!
Then had all kinds of pelts to pet. Beaver, fox, raccoon, squirrel, rabbit, even a turtle shell!
They even had some amazing movies. We only got to see one but it was so cool. It was about the US marine monuments. We loved it!
Then we headed toward the back of the center and boy were were surprised! It just kept going and going and they had amazing, realistic exhibits! Otters and crocodiles, and birds and bats and wolves! It was so spectacular. We were all impressed! they even had an amazing area where we could look through binoculars across the river. We saw ducks and lilli pads. It was super cool.
When we left we headed into Beltsville for lunch. We headed to Manila Mart, a Filipino grocery and carry out. And boy were we happy that we did! We got pancit and pork belly and chicken skewers and lumpia...
You know what I say "mmmm this is SO good" multiple times, it's a hit!
It was a yummy way to spend the afternoon. Then we headed to the pool to spend the rest of this steamy evening with some cool relief!
Our buddies Emmett and Liam came to join us. We had some pizza and snacks for dinner and got to swim until the lights came on! Our favorite!
We even got to see a spectacular sun set at the pool, We shut the place down. It was a great night!
