Today we found our friends house that they bought in Key West. It's only a few blocks from where we're staying and it looks super cute! Too bad they're not here for us to pop in and say hi!
Then it was off to the Butterfly sanctuary! In the entrance area there are so many cool butterfly species to check out. They sure are pretty!
Then we headed into the actual sanctuary where all of the butterflies and birds live!
There were so many butterflies flying around, it was amazing. But Kai and Finn were scared of them landing on them so they left...Meanwhile I was trying SO HARD to get one to land on me...no luck, YET!
But as we walked around we saw lots of different species and beautiful plants and flowers...
And FLAMINGOS!!! They were so pretty. And LOUD - apparently it's mating season and Rett is trying to get Scarlet's attention...
We loved it in there! We were walking among the butterflies flying all around.
And still I tried without success to get one to land on me...
And there were so many lovely varieties of birds! I need to show some of these to PopPop so he can tell me what they are!
And still, I tried to get a butterfly, any butterfly to land on me...
And none of them did. BUT we got our own butterfly stickers on the way out so that will have to do...until the next time we come back! Mama promised we could come back another time. That was super fun.
Then we all walked down to the end of the street to check out the water. Those waves were really big and crashing on the sidewalk! And it was right next to the hotel that Daddy, Mama, Finn and I stayed in when we were little and before Jax was even born! That was cool to see
After that adventure we decided to head back and take some touristy photos! We started at the mile marker 0 road sign!
Then we took a picture in front of this giant banyan tree in front of city hall! It looked like part of an elephant! It was so cool!
Then we decided to head back to the aquarium since our wrist bands were good for 2 days! Plus we wanted to show Daddy some things.
And our turtle friend poked her head out to say hi to us!
After that we stopped at the conch shack and had a little snack of grouper bites and fries. It hit the spot!
Then we walked down to Lagerhead beach and we couldn't resist getting in the warm water!
Thankfully Daddy was nice enough to walk home and get us a change of clothes so we could continue to splash and play.
It is so much fun here. We're sure gonna miss this place when we leave tomorrow!
After we changed and walked around we decided to head to Blue Heaven for dinner. While we waited we got to play huge jenga and ping pong in their yard across the street. That was super fun!
There was a fun band playing at Blue Heaven and we enjoyed listening to them while we waited for our dinner. It was a great last night in Key West!
