We were happy to see that the scaffolding is coming down off the Capitol!

First stop, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing! We wanted to see how money is made...there was money everywhere!

Lots and lots of MONEY!

Mama and Grandma really liked the ceiling and architecture too! It was beautiful!

Then we headed to the Jefferson Memorial. It was such an amazingly beautiful day. It was a nice, short walk and it was an awesome monument! We are so lucky to have such amazing monuments and memorials right here in our own city. It was so grand and interesting. We really enjoyed it!

We saw a large number of really big and low flying helicopters...it was a little scary but super cool!

We weren't prepared for how BIG the memorial was. And how important all the words on the walls were. Especially in the political times that we're in right now...if only politicians would look back on some of our founding father's words...

Then we took a trip over to the Washington Monument. It sure is huge! And so cool. It was such a perfectly blue skied day out!

This was my attempt at a SELFIE!

Then we headed back to the Bureau of printing again for our tour of how money is made. First we had to watch a short video. Boy was that BORING! Then we got to go see how money is printed and cut and shipped. We saw a stack of money that totaled over $12Million!!! That was super cool and interesting. But Mama and Daddy were not allowed to use phones or take pictures in there so we can't show you how that was done!

Then we went to lunch at Joe's in DC and Mama and Daddy ran into one of Daddy's old friends and roommates, mister Brett! We had a delicious lunch, the restaurant was beautiful and Mama and Grandma spent a lot of time admiring the old school DC architecture. This building was an old bank and you can tell. It was really neat. What a fun afternoon!

We must have really had a big day because this is how Jax ended up...

It was a beautiful evening and our friend Joseph came over. So we all headed outside to play. And we got a surprise visit from Papi. He was giving an estimate in our neighborhood and decided to come by and bring us some of his trash, I mean, fort material! It was a great night hanging outside. And it was a great day of exploring! We wish this summer would never end!
