This morning was not a happy one...we headed to Target to get our flu shots and we were all anxious in anticipation of the shots!

But as usual they didn't hurt a bit and we got to pick out a treat afterward because we're spoiled little monkeys!
Then we forgot to go back to school and instead headed downtown to enjoy some fresh air and a little history and geography on our own!
We explored at the Tidal basin and some new statues we'd never seen...
Then it was off to the Lincoln Memorial. One of our favorites! Mama thinks it looks like a wedding cake! We wonder what flavor it would be...maybe vanilla?
It was such a nice day to explore our beautiful Nation's Capitol. There are hardly any people downtown and it was a nice mild day outside.
Daddy had the good idea to walk the perimeter of the memorial. We never knew you could walk all the way around and we were glad we could. It was very cool!
We got so many cool pictures of the monument and capitol!
Then we went down and visited some ducks until they all started swarming us. We think they thought we had food or something...
Then we took a walk around the Korean War Memorial. It's so nice and peaceful there.
For dinner we had a yummy Caesar salad and chicken and wild rice soup with garlic bread - my favorite!
Then we all did some relaxing with the foot bubbler...it was a great day and a great night!
