Today was a rainy, cold, gross day and we decided we weren't leaving the house. And we were going to just hang out, make things and relax on this first full day of Christmas Break! Jax and I started by making chocolate covered puffed corn.
Kai did the microwaving of the chocolate and I did the shaking of the chocolate on the puffed corn and I got to put the sprinkles on too!
It turned out great! Looks great and tastes great!
Then Mama and I unearthed the bread maker. It hasn't been used in years so we didn't go crazy with fancy ingredients. We just used what we had and waited to see what happened...
Well, it was fun to set it and forget it but we clearly did something wrong. Maybe we should have invested in that bread flour...it smelled like bread but it didn't look like bread. It kind of looked undone. Maybe it needed more liquid. More mixing? We'll never know...
We did taste test it and with butter and jam anything tastes great! It wasn't bad actually. We'll try again another time!
And then I got to make some whipped short bread cookies! I did all the mixing and then after we chilled the dough I made them into balls.
They looked pretty but Mama said they were too dry for her tastes. We'll fix them up with some chocolate later...
Then my buddy Conall came over to hang out and have a sleep over. And we had yummy pork chops for dinner!
Then we all hunkered down and watched the show Wednesday! It's really good, we like it! It was a fun first day/night of Christmas Break!
