We were excited to wake up in New Orleans this morning and get our adventures started! We decided to take a walk down Magazine to Vintage Coffee shop for breakfast and coffee and boy were we happy we did!

The coffee was great (according to Daddy and Mama) and the warm beignet were fantastic!! Even daddy and Mama had some!
Being covered in powdered sugar was well worth it! And they were some of the best beignet we've had. Will be back!
Later we got ourselves all gussied up for our fancy lunch reservation at Antoine's in the French Quarter!
Kevin was sad to see us go...and we were sorry to leave him home alone! We'll be back soon Kevin!
On our way! Driving through the French Quarter during Mardi Gras is treaterous!
We got there in great time and actually had luck finding parking right by the restaurant! We were excited to start our culinary adventure!
we started with the famous Oysters Rockefeller, escargot, char grilled oysters and some cocktails and mocktails!
I got the croque madame sandwich, It was unreal and out of this world. Everyone loved it! Jax got the lobster Mac and cheese and French fries, Finn got the seafood omelet which we didn't get a picture of but it was so buttery and fluffy! Daddy got the gumbo and Miss Liz and Mama shared a blue crab salad and the shrimp and some more char grilled oysters. Everything was top notch! And the service was great too!
We had such a fun time! It was also awesome to see all of the Mardi Gras people there for parties and lunches and private room parties. It was a cool experience!
And of course we had to try the bread pudding and the creme brûlée! The bread pudding was almost as good as Nana's but everything was delicious!
Later when we were back at the house we decided to do some walking around Magazine Street. Mama loved the sign of the "Vous" because it reminds her of the bar they used to go to when she was in College at the University of Maryland.
We had to make a stop in at Sucre! Everything there is just so pretty and sparkly! Who doesn't want to eat pastries that are sparkly?
Then we went back to Vintage where Daddy and Mama had some froze and we got to have some yummy shoestring truffle fries!
And then it was finally parade time! We headed to Liz and Tom's friends who live off the parade route and set up camp!
It was a beautiful evening and a great night for parades! We were so excited to be back in NoLa!
The floats and horses and krewes and bands and dancers and flambeaux's were all so cool! Nothing like a parade in New Orleans!
We were so excited to be in New Orleans on a beautiful evening for some great parades!
"Throw Me Something Mister!"
MUSES!!! Daddy put me on his shoulders in the hopes of the coveted shoe!
I got one shoe that a woman wrestled out of my hands. Since I don't fight people for throws I let her have it.
But good things come to those who wait, I got a boot!! Keeping my streak of getting shoes from the Muses float alive! Hooray!
It was such a fantastic, fun filled first day and night in New Orleans! This is a good sign of a great vacation to come!
THE MUSES SHOE!!!
