Today we took a little adventure to the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in Anacostia. We didn't know what we'd find but boy were we pleasantly surprised!
It was a gorgeous day. Not too hot, so we got our new Maryland masks and explored the gardens!
There were so many gorgeous flowers. They were HUGE! We didn't know they could grow so large. They were bigger than our heads and it was so cool to be able to see them up close. Nature sure is beautiful!
There were some interesting plants and flowers too. We called this the corona flower...It was pretty cool looking.
We saw so many interesting things and trees and flowers. We loved these pretty lilly pads and we could hear frogs out there somewhere!
We even saw some fish and this GIANT tadpole that was about to grow some legs and become a frog soon!
When we got back to our neighborhood it was like the wildlife followed us! We saw these guys just munching away on our street!
Then we did the happy dance because for the first time this summer we heard the ICE CREAM MAN coming up our street. And Mama and Daddy said we could get some!!
I got a giant lime icey! It was as tall as I was!
Then, it was so hot we took a dip in the pool! That helped cool us off!
And for dinner we had a wonderful charcuterie platter! It was deeelish! And the perfect hot summer time meal!
