Today we woke up from our sleep over and played and then we had a yummy pancakes breakfast!

 

Then Liam played some Oculus VR before it was time for him to go home. We had lots of fun!

                         

                          

                           

   

Later Mama made us some escargot!! I've been asking her to make them for weeks and weeks and she finally did!

   

Nothing like some snails on Memorial Day!

   

That buttery garlic sauce was THE BEST! 

                         

This morning when I woke up I was hungry and Mama let me make my own snack! I made graham crackers with nutella and peanut butter and it hit the spot! 

                         

Later Daddy and Mama took us to The Spot. An Asian food hall in Rockville...

                          

                          

It was pretty cool. We got to try all kinds of different Asian specialties. Skewers, dumplings, ramen, smoothies and poke bowls!

   

   

                         

Everything was very fresh and tasty but we decided that it was just okay. Probably won't come back often.

                         

                         

   

Then our buddy Liam got to come over for a sleep over!!! We were so excited to have a sleep over. They are few and far between these days!

                        

We played Ocuclus and electronics and we ran around and I even set up a whole battle scene with blocks and characters! It was a fun night!

                        

 Nothing says the start of a long holiday weekend like a blue tongue and lips courtesy of the ice cream man!

                          

We had a half day of school on Friday and then Saturday we got to have our friends the Coll's over to hang out on this dreary, chilly Memorial day weekend! But at least the snacks were good!

   

We got to play Oculus and cast it over the projector onto the screen. That was cool! We had fun playing and running around!

   

And I got to hold court with the adults because, well...I'm Jax, that's what I do!

                         

 

 Tonight was my  last official baseball game and there were lots of cicadas hanging out on the snack shack at the Rockville field, much to our dismay. Yuck!

                         

Despite the cicadas it was a beautiful night and...

                         

I got my first chance to pitch! I was so excited and Mama was excited and nervous for me too!

                          

My very first pitch was a strike!! Woo Hoo!

I didn't do great but I didn't do terrible either. I struck some guys out and I helped make some really good plays as pitcher! And I thought I'd be nervous but I really wasn't!

                          

                         

                          

   

It was a great game and so much fun and I hope I'll get a chance to pitch again!

   

   

                          

And I was even awarded the game ball for my first time pitching and doing such a great job! Woo Hoo!

                       

Today was a crazy hat and sock tag day at school. We love days like these! 

                           

Then Mama saw us on zoom today when she logged in to our Wednesday morning prayer service! We think it's funny when she does that and sees us on camera!

 

Today was a beach themed tag day at school so we got to wear whatever we wanted and hats and sunglasses. It was fun!

                          

                         

                          

And Finn and I got to help make dinner. I did the salmon and rice and broccoli!

                          

And I got to help Daddy make the salad! I need some help with my knife skills but I got the hang of it and it was fun!

                         

                          

                          

                         

Mama forgot to take a picture before we started eating but it still looked pretty tasty! And it tasted even better than it looked!

   

Then I got to play a little bit of Oculus before bed. It's so much fun!

                        

Then we all got to read some books with Mama before bed. We love bedtime books!

                          

                         

 It was another amazing morning at the beach. The sun was shining and we got to have our breakfast on the back deck on the canal!    

                         

                          

Then Mama took us to Rose's and then to Sunsations to get a couple of things. And to walk around and look...

                          

Then we packed up and headed to the beach! It was over 90 degrees and sunny out. Not a cloud in the sky! Even the water felt warmer today!!

                         

But the waves were still very rough and crashing really hard. It's hard to even get it on video but those waves were ginormous! Mama wouldn't let us go in past our waist. But that was fine, we still made the most of it and brought home enough sand in our bathing suits to prove it!

                          

And Mama got to hang with us and read her book!

                           

                         

And we got to snack on Whoopie Pies! YUM...

                         

                          

We got to see a small plane flying so low over the beach! I guess they wanted a better view!

                          

                          

Then we played "make margaritas on the beach" with Mama's empty wine bottle and some gatorade bottles. Mama and Daddy aren't sure if they should be proud of horrified...

   

   

                        

It was truly a beautiful day! We sure got lucky with a true beach day in May!

   

                         

                        

We had so much fun! We can't wait to come back again in a couple of weeks!

                         

                          

                         

After we came off the beach we headed to Dumsers to get our milkshakes! They did not disappoint! 

                          

   

Then it was time to head home, pack up, clean up and hit the road. We got out a little later than planned but that made it so the traffic and backup getting home was only 8 miles and not 11 by the time we reached the Bay Bridge. We've never driven so slow over the bridge before. But at least we got to see the sun going down over the bridge. It was nice! Great beach weekend!
