Then Daddy drove me to my last day of school while Mama stayed at St. B's to go on a field trip with Kai!
It was an exciting day! Mama was the chaperone for our group. It was me, Liam and Peter. We were on the bus and heading to DC on this rainy, sloppy morning. We couldn't wait!!
First stop, The Supreme Court!
It was so cool seeing where the justices sit and where real cases are heard. It was really interesting. Then Mr. Smith, Samuel's Dad who works at the Supreme Court in cyber security, took us downstairs to see the portraits of retired and deceased justices. And some other really cool artifacts, including a model of the supreme court. It was really cool!
Then it was time to head outside. We took a few group photos then it was off to meet Daddy and head to the Capitol!
We even got to see my friend Gabby's new house, the beautiful, tall, grey house right across from the gardens at the Supreme Court!!
Daddy met us all and got us all set up in the large cafeteria in the Capitol to eat our lunch. It was so great to have such a big space to all spread out and eat together.
Then it was off to see some cool stuff that Daddy showed us...
We even broke out in song. The 50 States song to be exact! Daddy said it was the cutest thing he's ever seen!!
Then we all got to ride the trams under the Capitol. This was a highlight. All of my classmates really loved being able to do that. I sure am a lucky kid because I've been able to ride that train all my life. It sure is fun that Daddy works here and I can visit him any time!
We went to the new CVC and checked out some of the statues, like Lady Freedom, and then some of the really cool displays before Daddy took us all to the television studios!!
The obligatory pose behind the podium! All of my friends loved doing that! And then we got a group shot. We got there right after a press conference was finished so there were lots of camera men there. They really enjoyed seeing all of us kids down there and they were really friendly to us!
Today I got to enjoy my very last day of 3's pre-school! I had lots of fun running around with all my friends and I was really lucky because MeMa came to pick me up from school! She got a picture of me with my best teachers, Mrs. McCaffrey and Mrs. Dailey! I'm going to miss them this summer!
Then I got to run around outside with my pals a little before it was time to go home.
I got to go to MeMa and PopPop's house. I ate my weight in grapes then I ate MeMa's salad. Then we did some playing and I helped MeMa find all the birdies that I hid the last time I was here! I'm a little devil!!
After Daddy showed us around, a red coat took all of us on a real tour of the Capitol. We got to wear headphones and learn some interesting facts about the Capitol and our country's history!
The old Senate chamber
Statuary Hall where Daddy came out of his office onto the balcony to wave at us on our tour!! It was a highlight to see Daddy there, we were all so excited! Daddy sure does have a cool job!
Then it was time to head home. It was an awesome day. We all had such a great time. And we were all exhausted!!
I was exhausted too and I fell asleep at MeMa and PopPop's house. That was one comfy couch! I slept all the way until Mama came to pick me up after the field trip! It sure was nice to hang out with MeMa for the afternoon.
I got to bring Hootie home from school today for the last time this school year! I sure will miss Hootie. Later my brothers and I played Lego's and lets make our play room a huge disaster. Then we had dinner and played board games. It was a great night!
