This morning was a super rainy, sloppy one. The 2nd grade was supposed to go on a field trip to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and then to the Capitol but the MLK memorial had to be cancelled because of the rain...
So instead we were off to the U.S. Capitol to see Daddy...oh and have a real field trip! And we got to ride on a school bus!!
When we got to the Capitol we went through security and then Daddy introduced us to our tour guide!
Our tour guide was awesome and our tour was so great! He taught us some really fun facts about the Capitol and he was impressed with our knowledge of government and US History! The head sets were key to an amazing tour and made it so much better.
Abiel was my partner and Mama was our chaperone. We had a fun day together!
We got to walk by Speaker Pelosi's office and we got to do something very special that after all the times I've been here have never done...
We got to go onto the Speaker's Balcony! What an amazing view, even for a rainy day! What a cool day and a great experience to share with my schoolmates!
Then Daddy took us to the television studio. There were lots of paparazzi there!
Then we got to take the underground subway from the Capitol building to the Hart building. It's always one of my favorite things to do. And I think most of my classmates would agree!
Then, the cafeteria was too crowded so we got to eat in one of the press work rooms. Shhh...don't tell anyone. At least we cleaned up after ourselves and had the perfect amount of space for the whole 2nd grade and our chaperones! It was a great day! And Daddy really hooked us up with an amazing tour. This is one that no one will soon forget!
Later I had to practice my trumpet. I was over it but my hat wasn't...
And I got to chill in our new bar stools and eat a snack! Happy Thursday!
