Today was not too hot and not too sunny and it was the perfect day to head to the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in DC! First thing we saw were these giant cat tails!
So much beauty all around!
The beautiful lotus flowers, although we missed the BIG bloom, we did see plenty and they were just as stunning!
No matter how many times we see them, they are still so pretty and beautiful!
Mama would not let us get out of there without PLENTY of pictures! That's for sure...
The flowers are just so amazing. They look like they're fake, they are just so unique!
Even Mama and Daddy took a picture together for once!
It's just so amazing to us that this giant plot of land, this oasis and special place, is smack dab in the middle of Anacostia! Every time we come here we are more amazed by this gorgeous and calm space!
And then we went on the hunt for frogs! We looked high and we looked low!
We ran into the park ranger on the way who clued us in on some herons and spoon bill birds out on the boardwalk!
And we actually saw them!! It was so cool!
Then he clued us in on some places to find frogs and he was 100% correct! We found them and we were so happy to see them!
This guy was our favorite. Mostly because he didn't jump into the water before Mama could take his picture! He was really cool looking with his green chin.
Then we tried to have a picnic outside but the bee's wouldn't leave us alone SO we had a car picnic! And it was super fun. And delicious! Daddy hooked us up with some amazing home made sandwiches!
Then we were off to the Plant Word Museum! First stop the bathroom and the cool lockers!
This was the elevator on the way up to the exhibits! So cool already!!
We loved everything about the place from the get go!
The exhibits were so cool and thoughtful and we were just really enjoying ourselves!
They had so many cool and fun games - can you name the phrase? (in a pickle and fork lift)
(watch dog)
(Punk Rock)
Mama loves these little doors in all old DC buildings so she always takes pictures of them!
This was a really cool paint with words virtual game!
And this main library room was just so spectacular! We loved every inch of it and all the interactive exhibits!
And this secret door in the wall was amazing!! So cool!
It was so much fun! We had a great time exploring and such a fun, DC day! We love playing tourist in our own town!
