This morning we woke up bright an early before the sun even came up, packed up the car and headed on our adventure to New York City!!! Woo Hoo!

We couldn't check into our hotel room when we got there but the Shelburne hotel was super nice and they let us valet our car and store our bags until we came back later. SO, we got on our coats and warm gear and headed out to begin our adventures!

We got in our first New York City cab and headed toward Serendipity to see if we could get in for an early lunch...waa, waaa, not so much. The line was down the block so Daddy and Mama called the ball and we headed across the street to a cool looking pizza place. We had antipasti, drinks and pizza. It was delicious and hit the spot!

We checked out all the candy and fun stuff in the store then we had ice cream (Jax!!) and hot chocolate (Kai and I) at the upstairs dessert bar! It was such a cool place and a fun experience!

Then it was off to the next stop...Grand Central Terminal! We were right below the Chrysler building. It was massive! Grand Central was amazing. It was huge and so beautiful inside. It was cool to see the trains and all the people walking around the huge halls. And the constellations and stars on the ceiling were so fantastic!! Jax got to see a little bit of it until he passed out...

Then we bundled up and walked to our next destination...St. Patrick's Cathedral. It was beautiful inside We lit a candle and we sat down and sang Christmas carols with the nuns and monks that were singing them. It was so nice and sounded great! We had a nice time there.

Then we decided to make the trek all the way back to our hotel to check in, take a little break and give Jax a chance to sleep a little longer as we walked. We did really well. Finn needed to be picked up once or twice but we booked it for a whole mile in the city. We're turning into real New Yorkers!

                                     Untitled

We checked in, we had a little hotel room Snack a pallooza, we played a little iPad, layed down and recharged our batteries. The view from Mama and Daddy's room was amazing! We could see the Empire State Building and it was even lit up before it got dark. It was so cool that we could see it from our hotel room!!

Then it was time to get ready and head back out on the town! But first we headed to the rooftop of our hotel to really check out the view. The Empire State Building looked awesome! We just had to take an Empire State Building selfie!

Then we bundled up and headed into another cab. We LOVE riding in New York City cabs! Off we went to Rolf's German Restaurant to check out the amazing Christmas decorations that they have inside. Mama and Daddy love this place and we could tell why. It was truly magical. It just makes you feel festive in there!

Then it was off to Rockefeller Center to see the HUGE Christmas tree!! And poor Jax fell asleep right before we walked up. Mama tried to wake him up. He opened his eyes for a few seconds, looked at the tree and lights, then went right back to sleep. That city air must really exhaust Jax!!

Then we braved the crowds and headed over to check out the windows and lights/music display at Sacks Fifth Avenue. It was so cool!! We're sad that Jax missed it but we made sure to take lots of pictures so we could show him when he woke up! There were LOTS of people there but it was still super cool. And as we walked away we ran into Mama's old roommate Lisa, her husband and their 2 kids. I think everyone is here in NYC this week!

Mama got a great shot of the tree and 30 rock from across the street!!

Then I woke up right in time to hit Times Square! It was so bright and colorful and we headed straight for the M&M Store! Can you believe there was a line to get into the store! It was a mad house down there. People everywhere! But it was so much fun! Mama and Daddy let us each pick out our own bags of M&M's in whatever colors we wanted! And we wanted just about every color!! It was just amazing running around that multi story store!

Then Mama proved that she was a selfie taking expert when she snapped this shot of us right in the middle of Times Square! It was so cool. We saw them building the stage and other things for the New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square this weekend. It was just kind of amazing to us to see all these people and lights and colors and sounds and smells. Not like anywhere we've ever been!

After all that hub bub and people and noise Mama and Daddy were exhausted and in need of a beer! And we were starving. We headed back to our hotel to eat at Rare Bar and Grill. The food was delicious and we all got to sit back and relax after a super eventful, super tiring day exploring the city!
