It was pretty hot and pretty buggy. We got a little cranky towards the end of the trail since we had been walking for what felt like forever and still didn't know what to expect. We passed marshes and woods and creeks and lakes and frogs and Mama hoped no snakes but we know they were out there...
And then sweet victory! We finally made it to the beach and it was great! We went straight for the water and boy was it nice! Warm and sunny and the water felt like a bath!
We had so much fun splashing around and just having some good old fashioned summer fun! It was a sweet reward for the long hike down the path!
I did some exploring and shell hunting. I was also on the lookout for sharks teeth which this beach is famous for. I found a couple!
Then Kai joined us in the water. We all had so much fun swimming and spreading our little wings. It felt great!
We saw lots of dragonflies and sea shells and rocks all around!
Then the sky started to get dark and we heard a lot of thunder so we decided we better head back up the 2 mile trail before it really started to storm and we got stranded on the beach...
It was a long walk back but for some reason the way back wasn't quite as bad. We had fun chatting and talking about how much fun we had at the Cliffs. And we just barely got wet as it started to sprinkle on the trail. All of that tree cover kept us safe. We heard lots of thunder and saw lots of lightning but thankfully the big storm didn't hit until we were safely in the car. It was a great day and a great family adventure!
Then Daddy and Mama showed us the Golden Bull on the way home!
