Then we all got to have outdoor time starting around 11. We had popsicles and got to enjoy this amazing June weather! And then it was time to call it quits! Peace out 2018 school year! It's time to get this summer vacation started!
And off we were to Three Otters Eco Retreat in West Virginia to join some friends for a little "glamping"! The ride in was a little treatorous. The roads were windy and steep and then they were bumpy and tiny. It was a wild ride and super remote but once we got there we were pleasantly surprised!
We were put in Cheyenne, a pop up camper. And it was the coolest! It had 2 huge beds and then the whole couch area and the dining area became a bed too! We had lots of space and we got to enjoy the feeling of being outside in a tent but with real beds and lots of space to hang out. It was kind of awesome!
As soon as we arrived the whole crew was heading out for a tubing trip down the Potomac and we caught them right in time. We changed into our suits, got our water shoes and life jackets on and they drove us about 4 miles up the road to drop us into the river.
Mama did question a few times what she was doing here as we trudged through the brush to get down to the shore and then slopped through the mud to get into the water but she was up for the adventure and once we were in the water it was a blast! It was so relaxing and fun. And we even had a floating cooler with us for drinks for the adults and the kids! I had a Gatorade while Mama had her wine...
The scenery was pretty awesome. Mama and Finn tied together, Daddy had Jax on his lap and I caught up with my buddies Peter and Tommy and the three of us floated on down the river together. We were also way ahead of everyone else. Thank goodness Zack from the Eco Retreat was on a kayak and kept an eye on us way up ahead of the rest of the crew. We even beat the big teenagers back and all the adults, of course!
I had a blast with Daddy! I even hopped off the raft at one point and swam along with Daddy hanging on the side. It was so cool. And boy was that river running pretty fast in some spots! It's a good thing Daddy didn't let go of me!
When we got back from our tubing trip all the adults made dinner. It was gourmet all the way! We had chicken and steak fajitas, black beans, rice, guacamole, grilled veggies. It was so delicious and we were all starving!
We also got to explore the whole camp site as dinner was being cooked. All of the campers and pop ups and yurts and tents and tent cottages were SO COOL! Every one of the accommodations were pretty amazing.
We thought these old school campers looked the coolest but they were really stuffy and musty inside. We were glad we weren't staying in one of these after all, but they were still pretty neat!
The tents were cool too and this is where Kai spent the night with his friends Tommy and Peter!
After dinner we ran around outside with our head lamps and then we got to have a bonfire and make s'mores!
Then we watched the Dad's play some corn hole. It was fun being out there with just the spot lights on. It was SO dark out there. We could see all the stars in the sky!!
Then all the boys came back to our camper to play some card games. We had fun playing. Then I Kai went back to the tent with Tommy and Peter for bed while Finn and I got to play a little iPad in our big bed in the camper before going to sleep. It was such a fun, full day!!
