Today was a beautiful day and so we cut out of school early, rented a pontoon boat and went fishing!
Daddy got a lesson on driving the boat from the kid that worked at the rental spot. The water was choppy and we were bouncing all over. It was hilarious!
But it was fun! We got into our fishing and despite pulling up lots of seaweed and things stealing our bait...
I was able to reel in a super strong, crazy, big eel!!!
I was working and working, reeling and reeling!
He was so strong, he kept pulling my line back out!
And right as Daddy was pulling him up he yanked down and pulled my line and the hook along with it and swam away with a new piece of jewelry in his lip! Oh well, we saw him up close and Finn won the award for the first catch (and the only catch that day!). It was super exciting!
We did some more fishing and then we took a little boat ride around Duck before heading back with the boat! It was super fun!
And I got to drive the boat for a little while. It sure was more fun than being in school!
I'm not a big fan of the choppy water and definitely not a fan of Kai driving the boat...
Then we headed to I Got Your Crabs! What a great way to end a perfect afternoon!!
We got oysters and shrimp and hush puppies and oysters Rockefeller...everything was SO TASTY!
Then we hit the hot tub when we got home. We're loving our hot tub time!
Later we decided to run out to the beach for a sun set stroll. The colors were beautiful!
We ran around and played, stomped on left over sand castles, chased pipers, splashed in the water...
We took a nice long walk and saw lost of shells and birds.
It was a great evening and another perfect day in Duck!
And one more late night dip in the hot tub for good measure!
Then a perfect charcuterie dinner!
