This morning we got up and tore up the continental breakfast at our hotel. They didn't know what they were getting into when the Rupert boys arrived. But Mama and Daddy were impressed with our eating and glad we filled up for our next leg of the trip. New Orleans or bust!

We polished off Tennessee, made our way through Alabama and then we all slept the entire way through Mississippi!!

But we woke up as soon as we made our way into Louisianna! And the New Orleans sky line beckoned us! We were so close! We passed the Super Dome and some other cool sights...

Then we drove straight to Miss Liz and Tom's friends house off of St. Charles and made our way to our very first Mardi Gras parade! Nothing like starting as soon as we got here! The bands were so loud but so amazing. We met up with our friends Charlie and Fiona who taught us the ropes. We learned quickly how to run to the floats and ask for beads and toys and we were like old pro's right from the start!

Then we played some football in the street between parades. Again, like old pro's!

We got so many beads and trinkets and glowing plastic toys and cups, we could barely cary our bags home with all our booty!

The best parade of the night was the Muses parade. That's the all women's parade. They had the best floats and best things to give away. It was amazing and so much fun and exhausting! Is this really only the first night?!

When we got home to the Trouve's house we unloaded and got to playing. Then it was time to hit the hay. Boy were we exhausted from all the fun we had today. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings in New Orleans!
