After breakfast we decided to go check out the beach to see the damage and how the water looked. The photos just don't do justice to how enormous and rough the water was! The waves were those of nightmares. And some weird dude kept trying to get in the water. We're not quite sure why he would want to do that but the lifeguard was not having it. He kept blowing his whistle for the guy to get out of the water. Even I didn't want to attempt to get into those waves!
There were a lot of people checking on the beach despite not being able to get into the water. But it wasn't that hot so I think everyone was fine. It was still a bit on the windy side but it was nice out. And we loved running around and chasing seagulls. Then we had to say "bye bye beach". It's never fun saying goodbye to Ocean City at the end of summer. Maybe we'll be back before next season, if we're lucky!
When we got back to the house we played outside for a while. Then we went to check the water level of the bay at the docks. Our dock looked about the same as yesterday. The water was just to the bottom of the dock. Usually you can sit with your feet dangling and not touch any water. The other canal was even higher!! Or the docks were built much lower. Either way, those docks were under water! We couldn't believe it.
Then Mama and Daddy, Grandma and Granddaddy cleaned and packed up and it was time to hit the road...but not before we stopped to pick up a Lombardi's pizza to bring home for us and one for The Murphy's, our neighbors who also love Lombardi's!!
Then Daddy decided to stop at Fisherman's Crab Deck on Kent Island on the way home. It was such a beautiful day and perfect to be out on the water eating crabs! We fed the ducks, until the seagulls swooped in and tried to take all the food! Then we had a FEAST! The crabs were HUGE and delicious! We had clams and seared tuna and fries and corn and chicken fingers. Everything was so yummy and we had such a fun time enjoying a perfect Sunday with our family.
Then we got to throw all the clam and crab shells in the water. Our favorite after crab feast tradition!
When we got home we delivered the pizza to the Murphy's and an angel dog figuring to remind them of their dog Dexter. Mister Paul let me play with his super big gun. Good thing it wasn't loaded...
