This morning we woke to grey skies, pounding rain and wind! So we decided to pile in the car and head to The Coffee Beanery for breakfast. We ran into Grandma and Granddaddy's friend Einis and her family and we had a super yummy breakfast while the storm pounded on outside!
After breakfast Daddy thought we should go check out the beach and see how it looked. It was so rainy and windy! The rain drops were so painful and the sand was hitting us like tiny pin pricks! We were eating sand for the rest of the day!!
The pictures don't do it justice but those waves were so huge and all over the place. The ocean looked angry! The water was coming all the way up to where the volley ball courts were this summer. It was terrifying and beautiful. Mother Nature at her finest...
Then we headed into the Princess Royale to check out the storm from a safer distance!
Then we took a ride over to the Carousel to check out the indoor skating rink. We wanted to skate but Mama said the ice looked awful and we didn't want to get hurt. And Jax wasn't really interested so we moved on to our next stop...The Arcade!
When we got back from the arcade it stopped raining!! Hooray. But that wind was still howling. We went to check out the docks to see how hight the water had risen!
Then we decided to head to Kirby's for one last hurrah...and jumbo lump crab and shrimp and lots of other goodies!!
Then we went home and took naps and relaxed for a little while before heading back to the Princess Royale for some indoor swimming. The pool was great and we had a great view of that storm raging on outside. The wind was still howling. The waves on the beach looked like they got even bigger and stronger and more crazy! We were glad to be inside!
Then Grandma suggested that we eat at Schooners in the Princess Royale. We were all a little hesitant but boy are we glad we did! We got to have the buffet and we ate crab legs and prime rib and clam strips and chicken and mussels and super yummy dessert! Chocolate mousse pie, YUM!
After dinner we went outside to check out the ocean. The wind was still crazy and although this isn't our picture (It's from the Ocean City web site) it is indicative of what is going on out there right now. Those waves are so incredibly huge and scary. And then we saw paramedics and a rescue chopped flying over the beach with a spot light over the surf. Apparently they are looking for some very stupid people that went into the water at some point tonight. We hope the first responders are safe and the idiots that went into the water. Some people are just not very smart...
When we got home we watched a little iPad while Kai and Daddy did an awesome Star Wars puzzle. It was a great day at the beach, tropical storm and all!!
